Good Design Management For Cost-Down Machining

We take some home appliance injection molds for example. This injection mold as below use inserted structure machining which will lead the machining cost and materials cost high, and the machining lead time is long. GDM improve the layout structure and take the core side for a solid machining so that the mold base size can be smaller and more easy for assembly.

After the design improvement, the original mold base is changed from 650*650*585 to be 600*500*570 and the weight from 1500kg to be 1200kg, so that the total mold cost saved for 20%. With fewer parts, fewer weight, the assembly efficiency is improved highly. By the way, the injection machine tonnage can be reduced so that customer is satisfied with our cost down.
